After attending the 2019 Clio Cloud Conference, I wrote a post describing the experience as like “a cult of innovation.” I meant that in the most-positive sense possible.

“Within the context of a profession known for its resistance to change,” I wrote, “having 2,000 people together at one time who share a great devotion to such ideas made it feel a bit like a cult. … It is a cult in the most positive sense – a devotion to the idea of being better in their practices and for their clients — a devotion to innovation.”

Little did any of us know then that the live version of Clio’s conference would go on a forced two-year hiatus. And while the virtual version “didn’t suck” (and was, I wrote, “the best virtual conference the legal industry has seen so far”), it was no substitute for the energy of the in-person event.

So it is good news that the Clio Cloud Conference is back live this year on Oct. 10 and 11, and in Nashville no less.

The even better news is that you can save 30% off the full cost of registration by using this special link for readers of LawSites.

Here’s the fine print: That 30% is off the full price of $899 for a conference pass, so the pass is $599, or $300 off. Clio is currently running a promotion through Sept. 8 selling the passes for $799, so the savings currently is $200.

Virtual passes are also available. They cost just $49 and the discount does not apply to them. Not all sessions will be available to virtual attendees, so check the agenda to see what is offered.

This will be the 10th annual Clio conference. Having attended and covered all of them so far, I have been unabashed in my praise. After the second ClioCon in 2014, I called it one of the best legal technology conferences I had ever been to. After the 2015 conference, I said that it was déjà vu all over again. I felt the same in 2016, 2017 and 2018, writing that it had “cemented its standing as a must-attend legal technology conference.”

The conference website has the agenda of programs and social events and the roster of speakers, with more speakers and keynotes still to be added.

I will be there and hope to see you there as well.

[Disclosure: Clio is providing me with free media registration for the conference and is paying my travel costs to attend.]
